State Senator Dan Schoen is officially resigning December 15th, but his attorney says text messages at the heart of sex harassment allegations against his client were taken out of context. Paul Rogosheske says Schoen mistakenly sent a SnapChat photo intended for an intimate partner to staffer Ellen Anderson, and a text mistakenly sent to Representative Erin Maye Quade — “Working on her pretty hard, but I almost got her” — referred to his efforts to change her mind on the Jamar Clark case. Rogosheske says, “That’s what’s wrong in this day and age. Nobody picks up the phone anymore. Everybody does text messaging and e-mails and they use these stupid little emos. Everything is taken out of context.”
As to allegations of improper touching leveled by former D-F-L candidate Lindsey Port, Rogosheske released a photo taken after a 2015 campaign rally that he says is of Port with her arm around Schoen.
