The Science Museum of Minnesota has been selected by NASA to lead a national $14.5 million, five-year effort to educate the public about space and earth science. The Science Museum’s Paul Martin says as part of the project, they’re working to develop for other museums “a big box with about a dozen activities related to earth and space science that [museums] can open up and they can start to engage the public right away and they can use it in their museum, they can use it with schools on field trips, they can use it out in the community.” In addition, Martin says 50 Science Museum of Minnesota-developed exhibits will be shared around the country and could be seen by an estimated 10 million people.
