Authorities in southeastern Minnesota continue to search for a missing boater on the Mississippi River. The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office says an unoccupied sailboat washed ashore near Lake City Sunday morning. Deputies are looking for a 61-year-old man from Pepin, Wisconsin in the southern portion of Lake Pepin and south on the river. They say the man was last heard from Saturday night before taking his boat out for a test run and an overnight sleep on a channel. Conditions were chopping with blustery winds. Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching the area by air and water. Officials are asking boaters to be on the lookout for the missing boater near Pool 4 of the Mississippi River. Search efforts are scheduled to resume this morning.
