A judge today (THU) approved a request from the Carver County Sheriff to seal the search warrant and accompanying documents related to the investigation into Prince’s death. The information will be sealed for 180 days or until the beginning of any potential criminal proceedings. In the motion, Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud says “due to Prince’s status of having been an iconic popular music superstar, there is and will be continued intense media scrutiny upon the manner and circumstances of Prince’s death and “premature disclosure of the details provided in the search warrant…may compromise [the] investigation.” Prince died at his Paisley Park Studio one week ago today.
