Early voting for the presidential primary has begun in Minnesota. So should Minnesotans be worried about a repeat of what happened in Iowa? Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon says “no and for several reasons, 1st, what we’re having on March 3rd is an actual election, a primary election with real polling places, real election equipment, trained election administrators and so forth, Iowa was a caucus situation that was relying on political party volunteers.” Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon says there are “no Iowa-style worries” as far as he can see with Minnesota’s upcoming presidential primary and he adds “we also don’t do election night reporting like they apparently tried to do in the Iowa caucuses last night. We don’t use an app, no one has to be worried about that.” The Iowa Democratic Party says the delay in releasing the results of last night’s caucus was because only partial data was being reported due to a coding issue.
