A Minnesota rape survivor says Senator Amy Klobuchar will be “a great fit” to sponsor a bill that aims to help assault victims. Abby Honold’s bill was originally set to be sponsored by Senator Franken, but she says that even though she still welcomes Franken’s support in the wake of the harassment allegations against him “it would be easy to be reactive and say I was going to defend that behavior because I worked with him, but I’m someone who remembers what it was like to not be believed, to not be supported.” Honold says her goal in life is to get the bill passed and make sure that no other victim of sexual assault or harassment ever feels that way. Honold first brought the bill to Franken’s attention because the man who raped her had been an intern in the senator’s office. Here’s MNN’s Scott Peterson’s interview with Abby Honold:
