Republican state Senator David Osmek today announced he’s suspending his campaign for governor in 2018. The Mound politician says after discussing it with family, friends and campaign supporters, he decided it was best to no longer continue the campaign. Osmek says results from the sample ballot at last month’s State Central Meeting were not what his campaign had hoped for, and he believes “Republicans must unite behind the strongest candidate for governor as soon as possible.”
