The impeachment trial of President Trump is officially under way in Washington D-C, with House Democrats making their opening arguments. Lead impeachment manager, California Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff said to senators, “President Trump solicited foreign interference in our democratic elections, abusing the power of his office to seek help from abroad, to improve his re-election prospects.” At a pro-life rally at the State Capitol, 8th District Republican Congressman Pete Stauber said, “For the first time in our country’s history, there’s a partisan impeachment going on. It’s a sad day for our country.”
House prosecutors have 24 hours over the next three days to present their case, followed by a similar amount of time for the president’s lawyers.
