Domestic abuse allegations against D-F-L attorney general candidate Keith Ellison have left some politically-active Democrats less than totally enthusiastic about their party’s candidate. Erica Mauter, chair of the D-F-L’s Stonewall Caucus, says, “Our members are frankly kind of all over the place on this…. While we all wish in every race that we could cast a proactive vote for the best person for the job, we know that that’s not always the case.”
But Mauter says they’re “100 percent” united that Republican Doug Wardlow as attorney general would be “a danger to our lives.” Wardlow responds Democrat Ellison refuses to condemn Lewis Farrakhan, who called homosexuality “filth.”
