A man and woman were found dead in their Shakopee home overnight, and the man’s 40-year-old son–who was a suspect in their deaths–is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. During a welfare check overnight, police found the bodies of a 68-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman who had suffered apparent blunt force trauma.
Investigators later located the woman’s vehicle in Waseca, where the son lived. When officials went to his residence, the son barricaded himself in a room with a gun.
After several hours of negotiations, authorities entered the residence and found him dead.
