A 59-year-old South St. Paul man was sentenced today (MON) to life in prison for fatally stabbing a woman in August 2015. Thomas Luby was found guilty by a Dakota County jury earlier this month in the death of 45-year-old Kelly Anderson. Officials say Luby called 9-1-1 hours after the incident and told the dispatcher Anderson was dead “because I killed her.” Luby later admitted he and Anderson had been drinking and got in an argument. Luby claimed the stabbing was in self-defense and denied placing a knife in Anderson’s hand before officers arrived.
