Spike in synthetic pot overdoses prompts warning

Officials are warning of the dangers of synthetic marijuana after around 60 people were treated at Minneapolis hospitals just in the last week alone. Drug expert Carol Falkowski says some people are unaware of how damaging the drugs can be, but others know and take the drugs anyway. She says “people take drugs to feel good or feel better, but when it comes to drug abuse in this day and age, there’s really no guarantee that what you buy on the street is going to make you feel good or make you feel better.” Falkowski says synthetic drugs like K-2 are especially dangerous because their ingredients and chemical compounds are largely unknown and unregulated.
