One man is dead, shot by a police officer after an overnight standoff in Minneapolis. Officers were called on a report of shots fired at around 9:30 pm Wednesday. A mother and her two children were in an apartment and reported shots had entered their unit. When officers arrived, they heard more shots being fired and began evacuating the building. Police then focused on a man who was a neighbor to the woman and children. After about six hours of negotiations, Minneapolis police say the man was shot by an officer around 4:30 am this morning. The man, who is believed to be in his 20s, died at a nearby hospital.
