The State of Minnesota is also cutting taxpayers some slack after the I-R-S extended the tax filing deadline through the end of the day today (Wed) because of a technical breakdown in its e-filing system Tuesday. The Minnesota Department of Revenue says individuals and businesses affected by I-R-S system issues will not be penalized if they file and pay state taxes by midnight tonight (Wed). Officials say in the unlikely event a taxpayer is still assessed a penalty, they’ll receive a mailed notification with instructions on getting it canceled.
