State Health Department officials say they have a call with long-term care facilities today to review policies and practices as the number of coronavirus cases continues to increase. Spokeswoman Kris Ehresmann has this advice for Minnesotans about visiting love ones in nursing homes or other care facilities: “First of all, you check with the facility. There may be some facilities who are limiting and restricting visitors. Definitely anyone who is sick should be staying home and not going out at all, and in particular not visiting.”
Ehresman stresses, “We don’t want people who are sick to be visiting settings where individuals who are vulnerable are congregated.”
