Republican state Representative Nick Zerwas from Elk River is calling for a criminal investigation after the Star Tribune reported over 200 violations of state law at the state Human Services Department over the past year. “With just the shear volume of illegality that’s been uncovered, I think it’s unbelievably important that the Ramsey County Attorney… begin a criminal investigation,” Zerwas says.
Some Human Services Department employees reportedly allowed vendors to perform work without signed contracts, and other employees purchased products without required permission. Senate Republicans have scheduled a hearing next week.
