State Representative Marion O’Neill says a stakeholders group is working on recommendations for more aggressively prosecuting sexual assault cases in Minnesota. The Maple Lake Republican says one possibility: “I believe three years… [for] a statute of limitations is too short, especially considering we have such great D-N-A work now and D-N-A evidence.”
O’Neill is the House sponsor of a new law that took effect August 1st which requires requires uniformity in the way sexual assault examination kits are processed by law enforcement agencies across the state.
