Four state representatives and two state senators are joining together to form the United Black Legislative Caucus, which Minneapolis Democrat Jeff Hayden says will be a force to be reckoned with. “We plan to hang tight. We plan to stick together,” Hayden says. “Our interests are aligned. Our histories are similar. We plan to combine with our other people of color caucus and we plan to stick together and come up with an agenda and agree, and then stick with that.”
The group says among issues they’ll focus on are educational disparities, job opportunity and child protection.
