Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison told a state House committee Thursday that insulin is a recurring theme in meetings of a special task force on drug prices and the panel will have recommendations in January. Ellison says Minnesota is also suing three major insulin manufacturers, alleging their published list prices were deceptive. He says, “Minnesota’s the first state in the country to advance this case, and Kentucky has followed us and New York is currently investigating. There is a lot of benefit in the multi-state lawsuits we do.”
House Democrats and Senate Republicans have been stalemated since late May on an emergency assistance program for Minnesotans who can’t afford insulin.
