Lawmakers are back in Saint Paul after their Passover/Easter break for the final stretch of the regular legislative session which must finish by May 23rd. House Democrats are preparing to pass their bills to utilize the state’s budget surplus. Majority Leader Ryan Winkler says, “Next week on Monday, we anticipate starting moving forward the supplemental budget bills on the floor.”
House Democrats and Senate Republicans remain far apart on tax relief, education spending and public safety measures.
