State opens 6th saliva testing site, at St. Cloud convention center

October 28, 2020 By Bill Werner

The state opens its sixth COVID saliva testing location today (Wed) at River’s Edge Convention Center in Saint Cloud. Hours are Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 7pm on weekdays and 10am to 4pm on weekends. Appointments are recommended, and testing is free to any Minnesotan who believes they need to be tested. Assistant Health Commissioner Dan Huff calls it “the next phase of the governor’s ‘moon shot’, to make sure that testing is available to every single person in Minnesota.”

Saliva testing sites are also operating in Duluth, Winona, Moorhead, Mankato and Brooklyn Park, and officials plan to open as many as four more testing sites in the Twin Cities metro area in coming weeks.

The state has also made in-home testing available in 23 counties and the Red Lake Nation. Officials say that option will soon be available statewide.
