State Senator Dan Schoen, a Democrat from Saint Paul Park facing allegations of sexual harassment, will resign his Senate seat Wednesday afternoon, says Schoen’s attorney. Schoen, under fire from Democrats as well as Republicans, would likely have faced a full-blown Senate Ethics Committee investigation and there could have been moves to expel him from the Senate when the legislature reconvenes in February. Schoen called the allegations “either completely false” or “taken far out of context.” State Representative Tony Cornish, a Republican from Vernon Center, is also facing allegations of sexual harassment.
