Rochester International Airport is among today’s stops (Wed 1pm) as a Minnesota Senate panel hears presentations on projects vying for state bonding money. Plummer Democrat Leroy Stumpf, chairman of the Senate Capital Investment Committee, says they’re looking to see how the airport might be enhanced to handle additional traffic that civic leaders hope will be coming in. But some are frustrated by lack of progress on Mayo Clinic’s Destination Medical Center project, which might not garner enough private investment to trigger state funding until 2017, four years after the legislature approved it. The Senate bonding panel is also looking at other projects today in Lanesboro, Preston, Rochester and Oronoco (or-oh-NO-coh).
