(St. Paul, MN) — State Senate Republicans today (THU) rolled out their priorities for the 2016 legislative session. Senate Minority Leader David Hann (han) says at the top of the list are tax relief and “solving the transportation logjam that we’ve experienced the last couple sessions.” Hann says if lawmakers fail again this session to address transportation and taxes, then they will have “failed to do our job.” Last session, lawmakers passed a status-quo transportation bill after failing to agree on funding for a more comprehensive plan. Republicans continue to say the governor’s proposed gas tax increase to help pay for road and bridge fixes is a “non-starter”. Education and healthcare also top the GOP priority list.
