By a vote of 48-17, the Minnesota Senate today passed a compromise bill to fix the state’s problem-ridden vehicle registration system-MN-LARS. Republican Senator Torrey Westrom form Elbow Lake voted “no” on the bill and says he’s not sure it’s the right path adding “I want to highlight this mess, because it is a mess and as we say on the farm, “you stepped in it.” Democratic Senator Scott Dibble from Minneapolis voted “yes” and says looking ahead “hopefully by this time next year, MNLARS will be humming along and working really, really well as we’d hoped.” The House votes on the bill later this afternoon.
