State Senator Bill Ingebrigtsen from Alexandria is asking fellow lawmakers to denounce and condemn Governor Mark Dayton’s comment that he didn’t think the Philando Castile shooting would have happened if the passengers and driver were white. Ingebrigtsen says he’ll introduce a resolution during the special session planned for late August. He says the governor rushed to judgment and his statements were irresponsible and an affront to the integrity of professionalism of all peace officers in Minnesota. Dayton said the day after his initial statement that he stands by it.
