The state trial for two former Minneapolis police officers charged with George Floyd’s death has been moved to January 2023. Attorneys for former officers Tou Thao and J. Alexander Kueng requested last week that their trial be delayed and moved to a new location. The request to change the venue was denied. Jury selection is now set to begin Monday, January 9th and opening statements are slated for Monday, January 30th. Thao and Kueng’s trial was originally set to begin on June 13. They’re each charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.
