The legal battle over a Saint Cloud couple’s refusal to provide wedding video services for same-sex marriages is headed back to federal district court. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and Human Rights Commissioner Rebecca Lucero say they’ll defend the state Human Rights Law in district court rather than appealing a recent ruling that revived a lawsuit — which would be heard in higher courts where they argue there would be less of a chance of winning. Ellison says instead of a “theoretical law review type conversation”, he wants to make the case “more realistic” and “get some facts.” But the Alliance Defending Freedom, a group that’s assisting Carl and Angel Larsen and their business Telescope Media Group, says government “can’t force people to express messages that violate their deepest convictions.”
