Most camping facilities at Itasca State Park remain open after Thursday’s storms and officials expect most lodging will re-open today. The D-N-R’s Pat Arndt asks people to be careful because there’s still debris on trails. Arndt says, “We have a crew of about 30 people in there right now, an emergency crew, that’s working on cutting up the downed trees, cleaning up debris, getting trails passable, that sort of thing.” The D-N-R reports there are still some temporary closures in Itasca of remote campsites and group camps and lodging. Officials are notifying people whose reservations may be affected. Check the D-N-R’s website for conditions at Savanna Portage State Park and the Paul Bunyan State Trail.
