A small group of students from metro area schools is staging a “sit-in” at the office of State Senator Warren Limmer today. South High student Ben Phi (fee) says he and his fellow students are seeking hearings on bills addressing stricter gun legislation. Phi says the students are not asking that guns be taken away, but rather restricted, “so that law-abiding citizens can have them, but people who are capable of causing violence don’t have them.” Fee says the students plan to stay in place until 6 pm tonight. Senator Limmer , who chairs the Judiciary and Public Safety committee, did meet with the students briefly to hear their concerns.
