Organizers expect over a thousand at a march tomorrow afternoon (Sun 2pm) in south Minneapolis protesting the separation of families at America’s southern border. Mari Hernandez with Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee says, “The people being separated at the border are seeking asylum and refuge. They are not gang members, they are not violent. These are women and children.”
Hernandez says the detention system has existed during Democratic and Republican presidencies — and all people, regardless of political affiliation, need to stand up against it.
