A just-released survey sheds light on how we plan for long-term care costs in old age–or don’t plan.
Loren Colman with the state Department of Human Services says according to the annual “Own Your Future” survey, half of the 2,553 respondents said their biggest concern about retirement is losing health and needing care, with 40-percent saying their biggest concern was not having enough money. The survey was taken at least year’s Minnesota State Fair and is part of an initiative launched by Governor Dayton in 2012 to promote public awareness about the need to plan for long-term care in later years.
