A suspect who shot a deputy with a crossbow is in custody after a noon-hour standoff today at a home in Sauk Centre. Officers shot the suspect, a 31-year-old man from the Osakis/Alexandria area, multiple times and he was arrested nearly two hours later. They say the man stole a pickup earlier in Osakis, hit a building in Sauk Centre, drove through backyards and smashed into parked vehicles, then ran into an unlocked home and shot the deputy with the homeowner’s compound bow. Deputy Paul Orvis had surgery, his injuries are reportedly *not* life-threatening and he’s listed in good condition at the hospital.
