A suspect who shot a deputy with a crossbow is in custody after a noon-hour standoff at a home in Sauk Centre. Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson says the deputy was hit in the forearm, taken to Sauk Centre Hospital and was expected to be transported to another hospital by ground ambulance. The deputy’s injuries are reportedly *not* life-threatening. Shots were fired by another officer at some point during the incident.
The sheriff says it started when the suspect drove erratically and hit a building.
More information is expected at a 3pm news conference.
