A man who recently moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Brownsdale is charged with second-degree murder in Tuesday night’s fatal shooting at Myre-Big Island State Park in southern Minnesota. Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag says 26-year-old David Easter called authorities after the incident.  The sheriff says the accused “explained to us that he did shoot somebody and he claims some sort of self-defense, and our investigation’s going to vet that.”  Authorities say it’s unclear what led to the shooting. They say Easter’s wife and child were present but uninjured. The victim’s name has not yet been released, but investigators say he also recently moved to Freeborn County from the Omaha area.
