Target is paying millions of dollars to put its massive 2013 data breach behind it. The Minneapolis-based company has agreed to a nearly 40-million-dollar settlement with banks that had to reimburse fraudulent charges or issue new credit cards because of the breach. The settlement says Target will pay over 20-million-dollars directly to banks and pay another 20-million towards a MasterCard fund related to the breach. Personal information from as many as 110-million customers may have been stolen in the breach, including 40-million credit card numbers.
