Minneapolis-based Target says beginning June 30th it will double the amount of paid family leave available to employees from two weeks up to four weeks — including for birth, adoption, surrogacy or foster placement. Target’s chief human resources officer, Melissa Kremer, says they’re enhancing benefits “to be more relevant across a breadth of life stages.” Analysts say Target is trying to attract workers in a tightening labor market. The company also doubled — to 10 thousand dollars — what it will reimburse employees for the costs of adoption or surrogacy.
