Giving young ballplayers from eight regional high school baseball teams a chance to live out their big-league dreams, the Minnesota Twins today announced a series of four prep games to be held at Target Field this spring: Minneapolis Edison vs. Minneapolis Roosevelt on Wednesday, April 12; Alexandria vs. Willmar on Saturday, April 22; Cretin-Derham Hall vs. Mounds View on Saturday, April 29; and Minnetonka vs. Wayzata on Thursday, May 11.

The four regular-season high school games mark the most at Target Field in a single season in the ballpark’s 14-year history; all four contests will be held following the conclusion of that afternoon’s Twins home game (April 12 vs. the Chicago White Sox at 12:10 p.m.; April 22 vs. the Washington Nationals at 1:10 p.m.; April 29 vs. the Kansas City Royals at 1:10 p.m. and May 11 vs. the San Diego Padres at 12:10 p.m.).

Fans looking to support the teams should contact the specific school for ticket information, as proceeds from tickets bought through the school will be used to support their baseball programs. Additionally, fans holding tickets to the Twins game on the date of the high school game will also have access to both contests.

Each of the four games will feature the pomp and circumstance of a Twins game, including ceremonial first pitches, a public address announcer and the club’s new videoboards and LED screens.

“The Minnesota Twins have long supported the growth of our game at all levels, and we are thrilled to further expand use of our home ballpark and provide these eight schools a chance to compete on a major league diamond this spring,” said club President & CEO Dave St. Peter. “We thank the Minnesota State High School League for their continued partnership, and we cannot wait to welcome the student-athletes, coaches and fans from Edison, Roosevelt, Alexandria, Willmar, Cretin-Derham Hall, Mounds View, Minnetonka and Wayzata high schools to Target Field.”
