A 14-year-old from Superior is in critical condition after a water emergency on Little Grand Lake near Saginaw Tuesday night. According to St. Louis County Sheriff’s officials three boys were swimming out to a diving dock approximately seventy-five yards offshore when one of them went under water and never emerged. According to the report, as the other boys began yelling for help, bystanders from the beach and from nearby boats dove in the water and began looking for the boy. The teen was recovered from the bottom of the lake in approximately twelve to fifteen feet of water. Authorities say swimmer inexperience is believed to be the cause of the incident.
