How’s this for the middle of February? Temperatures are in the mid-40s through a large swath of Minnesota, with a good number of 50-degree-plus readings in west-central and southwest Minnesota, and 61 degrees reported this afternoon at Windom. National Weather Service meteorologist Tony Zaleski says even though winter isn’t over, sustained cold snaps are definitely behind us and sub-zero is unlikely unless we get more snow. Highs are expected in the lower 30s to low 40s tomorrow, a bit cooler on Sunday, but then warmer again on Monday.
