Tenth-ranked Gopher women’s soccer hosts defending national champs tonight (AUDIO)

(St. Paul, MN)  —  The tenth-ranked University of Minnesota women’s soccer team is 6-and-2 on the season and opens Big Ten Conference play tonight at home against number-16 Penn State.  The Nittany Lions were last year’s national championship team.  The Golden Gophers and Penn State begin at 7 P-M tonight at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium on the U of M’s St. Paul campus.  Minnesota continues Big Ten play with a game on Sunday afternoon in St. Paul against 19th-ranked Ohio State.  That game starts at 1 P-M.  Golden Gopher head coach Steph Golan says she likes how her team is playing right now and says every game in the Big Ten will be tough one.  She would like to see big crowds for both games this weekend.  Minnesota News Network sports director Mike Grimm sat down with Golan this week:
