Analysts predict abortion will be a big issue again this year, both in Minnesota and Washington D-C. Governor Tim Walz says, “I am not surprised, because that’s what happens during [an] election year. My job will be to bring them back [and] focus on the work that Minnesotans want us to get done.”
What Minnesota pro-life groups want done is something Walz opposes — a ban on late-term abortions. Thousands turned up pressure Wednesday at a State Capitol rally, one speaker telling the crowd, “More than 60 million unborn children have been killed in the United States, including about 650-thousand here in Minnesota.”
Senate Republican Majority Leader Paul Gazelka says, “I’ll pray for the governor, that his heart would be changed.” Walz says, “I trust women to make their own health care decisions.”
