Democratic leaders are calling for the resignation of a St. Paul Park lawmaker who is accused of sexual harassment. DFL State Senator Dan Schoen, who also works as a police officer in Cottage Grove was presented with allegations by writers with the website MinnPost. The accusations range from verbal to physical advances on several women. Schoen denies that he made QUOTE “inappropriate contact with anyone.” Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk and other party leaders are calling on Schoen to “apologize, step aside and seek care to address” his actions.
The search continues in northern Minnesota this morning for a missing woman last seen on Monday. The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office wants the public’s help locating 28-year old Candace Lundstrom of Nashwauk, who left a residence on foot and might not be properly dressed for the cold weather. Lundstrom is described as four-foot-eleven, 130 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes, last seen wearing a black jacket and dress. Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1.
A central Minnesota barn fire killed around six-thousand turkeys overnight. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says a portion of the barn in St. Martin Township was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived. Other sections of the barn had minimal damage and electric workers were called in to maintain power in order to keep the rest of the turkeys alive. The fire is under investigation.
