The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the team has acquired guard Ayo Dosunmu and forward Julian Phillips from the Chicago Bulls in exchange for guard Rob Dillingham, forward Leonard Miller and four future second round picks.

Dosunmu, 26, has appeared in 324 regular season games (164 starts) in five seasons with the Bulls, averaging 10.9 points on 50.4% shooting, including 37.7% from three, 2.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 27.8 minutes per game. The 6-4 guard has played in 45 games (10 starts) this season for the Bulls, averaging a career-high 15.0 points on 51.4% shooting, including a career-best 45.1% from three and a career-high 85.7% from the free throw line to go along with 3.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 26.4 minutes per contest. His 45.1% three-point percentage ranks eighth in the NBA this season and he is only one of five players to make 85+ threes while shooting 45.0% or better from beyond the arc this season.

Dosunmu has appeared in five career playoff games (one start), averaging 4.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 17.2 minutes per game.
The Chicago native played three seasons at the University of Illinois, appearing in 90 games (all starts), owning career collegiate averages of 16.7 points on 47.1% shooting, including 34.4% from three, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 33.2 minutes per game. Following his junior season in 2021, Dosunmu was named the Bob Cousy Award winner, given to the nation’s top point guard. He was also named to the Consensus All-American First Team, AP All-American First Team, All-Big Ten First Team, Academic All-American First Team and the Big Ten Tournament Most Outstanding Player. The Bulls selected Dosunmu with the 38th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Phillips, 22, is playing in his third season, all with Chicago, having appeared in 154 games (seven starts), averaging 3.6 points on 43.6% shooting and 1.6 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game. This season, the Killeen, Texas native has seen action in 35 games (two starts), averaging 2.8 points on 42.0% shooting, including a career-high 81.8% from the foul line and 1.3 rebounds in 9.5 minutes per game.

Prior to the NBA, the 6-8 forward played one season at the University of Tennessee, earning SEC All-Freshman Team honors while appearing in 32 game (26 starts), averaging 8.3 points on 41.1% shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 24.0 minutes per contest. Phillips was selected with the 35th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics before being traded to the Bulls on draft night.

Dillingham, 6-2, appeared in 84 games (one start) in two seasons with the Timberwolves, averaging 4.0 points on 39.8% shooting, including 34.6% from three, 1.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 10.0 minutes per game. The San Antonio Spurs selected Dillingham with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft before trading him to the Wolves on draft night.

Miller, 6-10, played three seasons in Minnesota, appearing in 49 games while averaging 1.9 points on 54.4% shooting and 1.1 rebounds in 3.7 minutes per game. Miller was selected with the 33rd overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Spurs before dealing him to Minnesota on draft night.
