The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team will begin their 2024-25 regular season on the road in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Opening Night, Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9:00 p.m. CT and can be seen on TNT. This is the second time in team history the Timberwolves have begun a season on the road against the Lakers (Oct. 28, 2015 at STAPLES Center). Minnesota will open its home portion of the 2024-25 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7:00 p.m. CT versus the Toronto Raptors. Minnesota’s 80-game regular season schedule is available for download here. The remaining two games not appearing in the regular season schedule will be played the week of Dec. 9-16. Those two games will be released following the conclusion of the Group Stage games and the Quarterfinals of the Emirates NBA Cup 2024.

Other highlights of the team’s home slate include:

  • Jayson Tatum and the defending NBA Champion Boston Celtics on Thursday, Jan. 2 at 6:30 p.m. on TNT.
  • Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets on Friday, Nov. 1 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN and Saturday, Jan. 25 at 2:00 p.m. on ABC.
  • Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins and the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. on TNT and Sunday, Feb. 23 at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN.

The home portion of the regular season schedule features two season-long five-game homestands. The first is from Feb. 1-8 against Washington, Sacramento, Chicago, Houston and Portland. The second five-game homestand of the season is from March 14-21 with games against Orlando, Utah, Indiana and New Orleans.

This season’s schedule features two road trips of four-or-more games, the first a four-game road trip from Feb. 24-March 2 with stops in Oklahoma City, Los Angeles (Lakers), Utah and Phoenix. The longest road trip of the season will be a five-game road swing from April 1-10 with the Wolves stopping in Denver, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Memphis.

  • Minnesota will play on Christmas Day against Dallas on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 1:30 p.m., the third time in franchise history the team will play on Christmas Day and the first since playing at the L.A. Lakers in 2017. The Timberwolves are 1-1 all-time on Christmas Day.
  • For the first time in franchise history, the Timberwolves will play at Memphis on MLK Day (Monday, Jan. 20 on TNT). This year will mark the 27th time Minnesota has played on MLK Day. The NBA will continue its tradition of using the game of basketball to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with various activities on and off the court to promote unity, togetherness and equality.
