The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced the team has signed center Joan Beringer. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Beringer, 6-11, averaged 5.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 18.2 minutes per game for Cedevita Olimpija in Slovenia last season, while helping the team win the 2024-25 Slovenian Basketball Cup. During the 2024-25 regular season, he ranked second in the Adriatic League in blocks (1.47 bpg).

Prior to joining Cedevita Olimpija, he competed for France at the 2023 FIBA U18 European Championship, where he averaged 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds. The now 18-year-old also played for the Strasbourg Saint Joseph-Basket U17 team and the U18 and U21 prospect teams for SIG Strasbourg.

The Sélestat, France native was originally selected by the Wolves with the 17th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Beringer became the first player from France drafted by the Timberwolves and the third player in franchise history to be selected with the 17th overall pick (Rasho Nesterović; 1998 and Aleksej Pokuševski; 2020).

Beringer will wear #19 for the Timberwolves and will participate in NBA 2K26 Summer League 2025.
