Player Notes
Rudy Gobert finished the night with 18 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, marking his 29th double-double of the season (505th career) and his 154th such game in a Timberwolves uniform. Since Gobert was drafted in the 2013 NBA Draft, only Nikola Vučević (534) has recorded more point/rebound double-doubles.
Following tonight’s performance, Gobert has now totaled 778 rebounds and 108 blocks this season. He is one of only two players in the NBA this season to have 700+ rebounds and 100+ blocks (Donovan Clingan – Portland Trail Blazers: 756 rebounds and 103 blocks).
In what was his third start for the Timberwolves, Ayo Dosunmu contributed 17 points, a season-high and career-high-tying 10 rebounds and a team-high and Timberwolves career-high eight assists in tonight’s matchup. In his three starts, Dosunmu has tallied 59 points, 24 rebounds and 16 assists. He is the only player in Timberwolves franchise history to reach each of those marks in their first three starts with the franchise.
Jaden McDaniels ended the night with 16 points, six rebounds and a game-high and career-high tying five steals, marking his 20th 15+ point/5+ rebound game of the season (66th career) and his ninth such game this season with multiple steals (28th career).
McDaniels became the 30th player in the NBA season to record 15+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ steals and the second Timberwolves player to so (Anthony Edwards: March 3 vs. Memphis; 41 points, six rebounds and five assists). Tonight marked McDaniels’ second career game with 15+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ assists, becoming the 11th player in franchise history to record multiple such games.
Julius Randle added a team-high 19 points, five rebounds and four assists, marking his 57th 15+ point game of the season (549th career) and his 47th 15+ point/5+ rebound game of the season (512th career).
Randle poured in 10 points in the fourth quarter of tonight’s game, marking his sixth 10+ point fourth quarter this season (47th career) and his 32nd 10+ point quarter overall during this year’s campaign (333rd career).
Bones Hyland came off the bench to record 17 points and two steals in 22:12 minutes of action, marking his third consecutive and 20th 10+ point game off the bench this season (94th career) and the seventh such game in his last eight outings. Since the calendar turned to March, Hyland’s seven 10+ point games off the bench are tied for the third most such games in the NBA.
Team Notes
Led by McDaniels’ game-high and career-high-tying five steals, the Wolves finished the night with 11 steals, marking their 26th game this season with 10+ steals, the seventh-most such games among all Western Conference teams this season.
With Randle (19 points), Gobert (18 points), Dosunmu (17 points), McDaniels (16 points) and Donte DiVincenzo (13 points) each scoring 10+ points tonight, the Wolves had all five starters scoring in double-figures for the 16th time this season.
