Pelicans 117, Timberwolves 96
NEW ORLEANS — Anthony Davis scored a franchise-record 21 points in the first quarter and finished with a game-high 45 points and 10 rebounds to lift New Orleans to its fourth consecutive victory. The Pelicans outscored Minnesota 36-18 in the third quarter.
Davis made 17 of 27 from the floor, sparking the Pelicans to their fifth victory in six games.
Minnesota head coach Tom Thibodeau says they have to work hard to get better:
The Timberwolves were led by Zach LaVine, who had 16 of his team-high 26 points in the first half. Minnesota’s Andrew Wiggins, who entered the game shooting 7 of 29 in his last two games, continued his slump, going 2 of 19 from the floor and finishing with 13 points in 30 minutes.
