Lawmakers start their day at the State Capitol with an overview of the Minnesota’s iron ore industry. There’s also a hearing on Governor Mark Dayton’s tax relief proposal, which Republicans say doesn’t go far enough either to help middle-class Minnesotans or businesses which create jobs. It’s day two of continuing hearings in the Senate on a REAL ID drivers license bill, but significant differences remain with the House over undocumented immigrants. There’s also an informational hearing on broadband Internet. Governor Dayton in his budget proposes 60 million dollars to improve access in Greater Minnesota. And it’s “Sugarbeet Day” at the Capitol, and lawmakers will hear from growers.
