More aggressive state control is *not* the best way to prevent more COVID outbreaks at Minnesota food processing plants, says House Democratic Majority Leader Ryan Winkler. He says the Health Department and other agencies have been on-site providing guidance — and some companies have done well, but others have not: “JBS in Worthington, for example, was running full steam with basically no social distancing up until the day it closed. But we’re I think going to do better with cooperation with the industry and with the good actors who are out there.”
Winkler contends more aggressive control by the state may have the effect of shutting plants down more quickly, but with no health benefit.
